International Technical Assistance

International technical assistance by the Minéfi is one of the instruments of French foreign policy. It combines initiatives to strengthen France's influence on all continents with solidarity, without which sustainable development would not be possible. It consists in the transfer of economic, financial and industrial expertise and know-how to emerging, in transition or developing countries.
International co-operation policy guidelines are defined by the Comité interministériel de la coopération internationale et du développement (Cicid - Interministerial International Cooperation and Development Committee), chaired by the Prime Minister. The Minéfi’s technical assistance is provided by Adetef (Assistance au développement des échanges en technologies économiques et financières, Assistance for the development of exchanges in economic and financial technologies), a public interest grouping.
